Lost Love, Come Back

Lost Love, Come Back

The old bookstore smelled of paper and nostalgia, the kind of place where memories hid between the pages of forgotten novels. Ayan ran his fingers over the spines of books, lost in thought, until a familiar voice behind him made his heart stop.

“Ayan?”

He turned slowly, his breath catching. There she was—Meera. The woman he had spent years trying to forget.

She looked the same yet different. Her long hair was tied back now, her eyes still deep and searching. She wore a simple blue dress, the same shade she had worn the night she left.

“It’s been a long time,” she said, offering a hesitant smile.

“Yeah,” he managed, his voice rough with unspoken words.

For years, Ayan had replayed their last conversation in his mind. The one where Meera had walked away, choosing her dreams over their love. He had let her go, believing that love shouldn’t hold someone back. But in the silence that followed, he had realized something—letting go didn’t mean forgetting.

“I didn’t think I’d see you again,” he admitted.

“I wasn’t sure you’d want to,” she replied, biting her lip. “But… I never stopped thinking about you.”

The weight of the years pressed between them. The pain, the longing, the regrets.

“Did you find what you were looking for?” he asked.

Meera exhaled, looking down. “I found success, Ayan. I traveled, built a life… but it always felt incomplete.” She met his gaze. “Because I left behind the one thing that truly mattered.”

His heart ached. Was this fate, giving them a second chance?

“Do you think we can start over?” she asked softly.

Ayan studied her, searching for an answer in his own heart. Love had left, but now it was standing before him again, asking to come back.

Maybe, just maybe, this time, he wouldn’t let it go.
